Gemcrafting in Dungeon Heroes

What Is Gemcrafting?

Gemcrafting is a mid-to-late-game crafting layer Twin Atlas added alongside Mushroom Forest. Boss kills in Shimmering Caves and Mushroom Forest drop uncut gems. You experiment at the gemcrafting station to refine them into typed gems, merge refined gems for higher rarity, then socket combinations onto weapons and armor for unique stat lines beyond normal rerolls.

Gemcrafting complements Magic Dust rerolls—it does not replace them. Dust fixes random stat lines on gear drops; gems add deliberate bonus effects when you invest farming time into specific bosses.

Uncut Gem Farming Routes

Farm Shimmering Caves Hard or Insane for crystal-themed uncut drops from Pela'Eus and Flint Beryl XIII fights. Mushroom Forest bosses Lord Yew and Fugacitas drop fungal uncut gems at higher rates on Insane when your group clears under the timer. Run with Luck boosters from codes like UNIQUE-CRAFTING or SAKURA to improve drop frequency during dedicated gem sessions.

Party up for Mushroom Forest Insane if solo clear times exceed twelve minutes—gem hourly rate drops sharply when you fail timer bonuses. Horizontal farm Shimmering Caves while vertically pushing Mushroom Forest so you are never gem-starved on one type only.

Refining and Merging Gems

Refining converts uncut gems into typed refined gems by combining materials at the crafting UI—experimentation is part of the system, so community spreadsheets help avoid wasting duplicates on bad combinations. Merging stacks identical refined gems into higher rarity versions with stronger effects, similar philosophically to pet merges but using gem materials instead of five pets.

Budget time before keys: gemcrafting is a parallel grind. Do not pause all skill chest progress for gems unless your build already has S-tier skills socketed and merged pets online.

Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald Types

Uncut gems refine into three color families: Ruby (attack, crit, warrior-leaning lines), Sapphire (cooldown, pet attack, move speed, hunter lines), and Emerald (health, evasion, resistance, stamina lines). Four-slot combinations of these colors produce dozens of named refined gems—Attack Ruby and Critical Ruby for physical DPS, Cooldown Sapphire and Friendly Sapphire for pet and CDR builds, Ironwall Emerald and Health Emerald for survivability.

Order and color mix matter at the station. Screenshot successful recipes after Twin Atlas patches because the community wiki tables update slower than Discord experiments. Common → Legendary rarity on refined gems scales the numeric bonuses—merge before socketing endgame keepers.

  • Ruby — Attack %, Crit Rate, Warrior/Mage offensive lines
  • Sapphire — Cooldown, Pet Attack, Move Speed, hunter utility
  • Emerald — Max HP, Evasion, Resistance, stamina/defense
  • Merge refined duplicates to raise Common → Legendary effect strength

Socketing onto Gear

Combined gems attach to items for stat buffs that vary by gem type and rarity—physical players chase crit and attack lines, magic players chase ability power and cooldown gems. Socket only on keeper Rare+ pieces you plan to wear through Golden Realm; socketing greens is a material sink. Left-hand dual-wield weapons do not apply gem effects—socket your main-hand and armor first.

Cross-reference items/stat-reroll: reroll base lines first with Magic Dust, then socket gems for bonus layers. Reversing the order wastes Dust on items missing gem slots you intended to use.

Gemcrafting vs Other Systems

Keys still fund skill chests and pet merges—gems never consume keys directly but compete for your farming hours. Unique crafting salvages unused unique gear into shards separately from gemcrafting. Gauntlet Marks buy separate skills and cosmetics; gem bosses live in standard dungeons. Redeem UNIQUE-CRAFTING, SAKURA, and NIGHTMARERAID (Magic Dust Booster) before long gem or dust sessions.
